Dillon's broken leg...

A week ago Tuesday Dillon broke his left femur. It was a very hard day for everyone! He was with Grampie and slipped off the bed somehow catching his foot on the bed frame and broke his leg. Grampie felt horrible and had a worse day then anyone, maybe even worse than Dillon. His cast is huge and heavy. It goes from just under his breast line to his ankle on the left side and to the knee on the right side (as you can see in the photo) with a bar between the legs to keep them at the perfect angle. He is very uncomfortable and unhappy! The diapering thing is a nightmare...we have to cut a small diaper and push it up into the cast and then hold it in place with the larger diaper on the outside. Dillon doesn't like to be changed. Potty training (which was going so well) has been put on hold for now since it is impossible to do. He is starting to feel better, which just makes it worse because now he wants to get down and do things that he can't do. As of now he still can't put any pressure on this legs so that means he has to be held or lie on his belly or back on the floor. This does not make him happy! He is getting bored. I will keep everyone updated as he goes back to the doctors to see what they are going to do next. Last report was that it is healing nicely and maybe next time they will cut off part of the cast. We will see!!

More pictures of Rachel...

SHE IS HERE...

RACHEL MARIE HEWES

She was born on 1/30/09 at 6:16 am, weighing in at 6 lbs 13 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. She and mother are doing great! Don't I have really cute grandchildren? We haven't had a chance to go to Arizona yet to see her, but we are going next weekend. I can't wait to get my hands on her.
